As the British colonized far off parts of the world they would often transport their own furnishings, many times adding to them through the efforts of local artisans. Kirkwood represents this Anglo/Indian unification of East and West in its boldly turned legs, dark rich coffee bean finish and plantation lifestyle appearance. Rendered in quarter cut veneers over birch solids, it recaptures the romantic and remote corners of the globe the English came to call home.
